Clamped on KAN-therm Steel Sprinkler system connectors are made of an non-alloy steel (carbon steel), material No. 1.0034 [steel 34-2].

Pipes are protected against corrosion by electroplated zinc coating (8-15 μm).
Standard connectors are provided with an O-ring of EPDM rubber. O-rings for the DN 20 - 50 connectors feature a function of signalisation of not assembled (clamped) LBP connections (Leak Before Press) – „not clamped – not leak proof”. Diameter range: DN20 - DN100

Connectors are provided with pressed on tips with an O-ring or with tips clamped on and threaded with a female of male threads to PN-EN10226-1:

  • knees/bends and tees, connectors,

  • zconnectors with GZ and GW threads and screw joints,

  • approaches for receivers,

  • special fittings.

Pipes are made of the low-carbon steel (RST 34-2) – pipe material 1.0034 to PN-EN 10305-3. Pipes are electroplated (Fe/Zn 88) and receive an 8-15 µm thick zinc coating. Additionally the zinc coating is covered with passivating chrome coating. The zinc coating is hot applied.

Sealings (O-rings)

Standard „Press“ fittings in the KAN-therm Inox Sprinkler System are provided with EPDM rubber O-rings satisfying the PN-EN 681-1 standard.

Working parameters and the scope of application of these seals are given below:

Material EPDM LBP (DN20-DN50) EPDM (DN76,1-DN108)
Colour black black
Coating without silicone, PTFE-based without silicone, PTFE-based
Temperature -minimum/maximum -35°C do + 135°C od - 20°C do +85°C
Max. short duration working temperature 150°C 120°C
Max. working pressure 16 bar 16 bar
Scope of application wet sprinkler systems wet sprinkler systems

All the fittings of KAN-therm Inox System within 15-108 mm dimensions contain LBP function (unsealed connections alert - LBP-Leak Before Press).

Within 15-54 mm dimensions the function is realized by a specially designed O-rings. With a special grooves LBP O-rings provide optimal control over connections during the pressure test. Unsealed connections are leaky and therefore easy to locate.

Within 76,1 - 108 mm dimensions the LBP function is realized by an appropriate shape of fitting (pipe connector ovalisation).

The life of Inox system O-rings was tested by the DVGW Institute and according to these test this life should not be shorter than 50 years.
